Canon Inc. provides you with certain software, content or function under a license agreement or service agreement on a chargeable basis (“Paid Service”). If you want to use the Paid Service, you will be required to purchase a plan of the Paid Service listed on the
Canon Imaging App Service Plans
page (“Plan”) through Canon Inc.’s resellers, Cleverbridge GmbH (Address: Gereonstr. 43-65, 50670 Cologne, Germany) and Cleverbridge, Inc. (Address: 350 N Clark St Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60654, USA) or their affiliates.
These material conditions explain (i) how automatic renewal works, (ii) how free trial works, (iii) how you can cancel, and (iv) other material conditions that apply for any Plan.
(1) Free Trial
All new subscribers to any Plan with automatic renewal (“Subscription Plan”) can try such a Subscription Plan for free for the trial period set for each Subscription Plan (“Trial Period”). Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates will send an email to your registered email address prior to the end of the Trial Period to notify you that the period set for the Subscription Plan (“Plan Period”) is scheduled to commence. Neither Cleverbridge GmbH nor Cleverbridge, Inc. nor their affiliates nor Canon Inc. is responsible for any undelivered email notifications. If you cancel within the Trial Period, you will not be charged.
You may only use this free trial once for each Subscription Plan. Canon Inc. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify this free trial at any time, without prior notice.
(2) Subscription Plan
Any Subscription Plan will be automatically renewed unless you cancel it prior to the beginning of the new Plan Period. Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates will send an email to your registered email address prior to the end of the current Plan Period to notify you that the next Plan Period is scheduled to commence. Neither Cleverbridge GmbH nor Cleverbridge, Inc. nor their affiliates nor Canon Inc. is responsible for any undelivered email notifications.
(3) Cancellation
You will need to cancel the Subscription Plan you have purchased in order to avoid charges for a Plan Period or new Plan Period as the case may be directly with Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates, or indirectly through Canon Inc. acting for Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. prior to the beginning of a Plan Period or new Plan Period as the case may be. You can cancel either through Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates, or through Canon Inc. To cancel through Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates, follow the instructions provided by Cleverbridge GmbH and Cleverbridge, Inc. or their affiliates. and then navigate to the “Manage subscriptions” page and then click “Check current subscriptions” and then click “Cancel a plan.”
If you cancel the Subscription Plan during a Plan Period, you can continue to use the Paid Service for the remainder of the Plan Period; however, the amount that you have already paid will not be refunded.
Please note that any Subscription Plan that you have purchased will continue to be automatically renewed until the Subscription Plan is cancelled, even if you do not use the Paid Service.
(4) Important notice on Canon ID account
If you cancel your Canon ID account, you will no longer be able to use any Paid Service and all Plans will be automatically cancelled, even though your Plan Period has not expired or you may not have used all of the features that you are eligible to receive under your Plan and whether or not the Paid Service is in progress. The cancellation of your Canon ID account may result in deletion of your content related to services available using your Canon ID account. Canon Inc. will not be responsible for any loss of your content resulting from such cancellation.
If you want to use the Paid Service, you will be required to create a new Canon ID account and purchase a new Plan.
(5)Additional conditions for using “the Rental Function”
If "the Rental Function" is available in your Plan, such function is subject to the terms and methods of use separately prescribed by Canon. Even if you use the Rental Function, your obligations owed to Canon shall not be affected and fully remain in effect. You may stop using the Rental Function at any time. However, it is your responsibility to take appropriate cautious actions, such as giving advance notice of such stoppage to third parties to whom you have granted access to your Plan through this function, in order to avoid unexpected disadvantage or damage to such third parties.Your use of the Rental Function shall be at your own risk, and you shall resolve any trouble with any third party (including, but not limited to, those arising out of such third party’s expectation that the access to your Plan through the Rental Function will continue) at your sole cost and responsibility and hold Canon harmless.
